Survey Junkie Review – Legitimate Paid Survey Website or Just a Scam?

At Survey Junkie they claim to be “the most popular spot online to earn cash and rewards for sharing you thoughts,” but is this really true? Before signing up, you may want to think twice. In this review we'll be taking a closer look at SurveyJunkie.com and what the site has to offer.

About The Company

Launched way back in 2005, Survey Junkie currently has over 3,000,000 members. The site is generally pleasing to the eye. The colorful, picture-filled pages attract visitors, but what's underneath all the extra?

They advertise themselves as a survey company, but they're actually a lead generation site. This means that they play the middle man between people like you and other survey sites. After getting all of your contact information, they match you with survey providers instead of supplying you with actual surveys. Mysurvey, Vindale Research, and Pinecone Research are some of the many companies they partner with.

If you are still unsure and looking for assurance from the BBB (Better Business Bureau), you'll be disappointed. From our searches, we've found that Survey Junkie has no connections with the Better Business Bureau.

Signing Up at Survey Junkie

If you are considering signing up, there are a few things Survey Junkie requires first. You must you 18 years or older, and live in either the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or United Kingdom. If you meet these requirements,  you qualify for registration. If not, then sadly your out of luck.

Creating an account is free, but the entire process was very worrisome. If you use a work email, they cancel your registration so you must provide a personal email if you want to become a member. It doesn't just stop there. After providing your email, you are required to fill out a questionnaire that asks extremely personal questions. The answers you provide can be sold to marketing companies for a small commission.

Survey Junkie does not screen the websites they sell your information to, and will not intervene if you join survey companies that fail to pay you.

Earning Cash

Like any other survey site, at Survey Junkie you make money by taking surveys, it's why you're there.  But is it legit? The twist is that they don't reward you direct cash. Instead, they operate with a point system.

Completing your  profile earns you you're first 25 points.  Most surveys are worth 20 to 200 points, but on rare occasion there are ones that go for more. You must act fast, though, because they fill up quickly. Lots of online marketers promote the site as a way to make an easy 5K/month, which is clearly NOT true. Making 1000 points on Survey Junkie is equivalent to only $10.00, and the amount of time you took on that survey was probably over 20 minutes long.

Reports showed that some survey takers never received their due amount in earned cash and gift cards. At Survey Junkie, it's guaranteed that you won't qualify for every one of their surveys.  Sometimes your account will be deleted, erasing all your hard-earned points. But don't worry, a multitudinous amount of unwanted survey emails will still be sent your way.

The prospects of earning cash during your time at Survey Junkie are unpredictable. Some people make more cash depending  on their demography. Not everyone is qualified for the same surveys, meaning that not everyone will have the chance to earn the same amount of cash.

There isn't much to say that's good about Survey Junkie, except that registration is free and it does get you money. If you're lucky, you can make up to $45 an hour on surveys. But even if it's a mere $1, it's always good to have some real extra cash in your pocket.

To get the most out of Survey Junkie, make sure to join their focus groups. After you login, look for the “Focus Group” link. Joining gives you the opportunity to earn an extra buck, but act fast because there are limited spots available.

Privacy

We've read through a lot of reviews before writing this one, and something we discovered is that most complaints about Survey Junkie had to do with privacy. With Survey Junkie you can't control who your private information goes to.

Information may be collected in various ways, including inquiry forms, registration forms, surveys, and contests. All your answers to their invasive questionnaires are sold to other marketing companies for a small commission, and it doesn't screen companies that they give your information to.

How is your information protected against other outside sources? In their Privacy Policy, they promise that they protect all information by using secure web servers and databases. But considering the fact that they sell your information to other companies, you can't help but wonder how legitimate their promise really is.

Is Survey Junkie Legit Or A Scam?

No doubt, Survey Junkie is a total scam. At first glance, it looks like a great and safe opportunity to make cash. But if you look closer, you can spot a lot of red flags.

At Survey Junkie, their main goal is to get your email and gather your information to sell for commission. They advertise themselves as a survey company, but they're actually a lead generation site. Instead of providing you with their own surveys, they match you with other survey sites. So if this is the case, why do you need Survey Junkie when you can access the marketing research companies directly?

The site doesn't actually reward you with direct cash. They give you points, which can be redeemed for cash and then transferred to your Pay Pal account. They require direct access to your personal credit card accounts which can be very risky business.

Survey Junkie gives you the opportunity to earn a little cash, emphasizing a little, but it does not compensate for all the bad qualities that come along with your membership. Only available for certain countries and age groups, the chances you'll actually earn money are low. It's guaranteed that you won't qualify for every essay, and you may make less depending on your demography. Not to mention that your account could get deleted, erasing all of your hard-earned points.

So is it worth it? Taking all the factors into consideration, we do not recommend using Survey Junkie. The bottom line is that the payment and privacy issues are too risky. Time is money, and Survey Junkie is a complete waste of your precious time.  There are so many other survey sites that provide better ways to make money.

If your still looking for a legitimate way to earn some extra cash, we recommend Swagbucks. It's a safe, reputable site that gives you opportunities to take paid surveys, play games, and earn money searching the web. Click here to sign up now!
